Iowa ranked first in housing affordability, second in infant mortality rate, fourth in median family income, eighth in separation and divorce rates, ninth in unemployment, 10th in the percentage of families living in poverty, 15th in both child care costs and the percentage of families with children, and 16th in violent crime.
