We might be saving paper with apps and messaging services, but we aren’t making communication any easier on ourselves. At least that’s Miriam Kramer’s thought over at Mashable. Over on my iPhone, I have 13 separate social media or email apps with a private message inbox — not counting the multiple accounts I may control from each app. Are our interactions shallower because of it? It’s hard to disagree when I spot that three-week-old Instagram DM (“direct message” for the beginning explorers among us).
