What are your goals in your role at your company?
Iowa employers want to provide great benefits that protect employees when they need it most, while understanding their health care spend and trend. My goal is to do these things: shape and simplify benefit plans to provide an excellent member experience while providing insights to health care cost drivers.

What are your goals for community involvement?
During my two terms on the Ankeny City Council, I have strived to truly represent Ankeny residents in my decision-making and regional appointments. My goal as a council member is to keep Ankeny the best and most affordable place to live, raise a family and grow a business.

What’s your biggest passion, and why?
My biggest passion the past 18 months has been to initiate and grow 100 Women Who Care Ankeny. I knew there were women who wanted to give back but may have felt too strapped for time, didn’t know enough about local organizations, or didn’t think their donation could make a difference on its own. The first year was a great success, engaging more than 100 women and raising over $33,000 for area nonprofits.

What is it that drives you to pursue success?
My mom is a great role model for determination and worked two jobs to support me and my younger siblings prior to my dad’s passing when I was 22. This shaped me to be self-supporting and independent.

What are your future aspirations?
I’m excited to see several Ankeny projects come to fruition, I look forward to continuing the success of 100 Women Who Care Ankeny, and I welcome the challenge to find better ways to modernize health insurance and understand underlying health care trends.
