OBI Creative purchases MediaWorks
Omaha-based advertising agency OBI Creative, which has an office in Urbandale, announced today it has purchased MediaWorks, a media planning and buying agency based in Omaha. The acquisition of MediaWorks expands OBI’s expertise in media planning and buying, while continuing to offer clients market and customer research, brand strategy, public relations, and digital and social media services, the agency said in a release. Clients of MediaWorks include regional health care, retail, special events and higher education. MediaWorks was co-founded in 1983 by owner Teri Vierregger and longtime media director Ruth Humpal, who will continue to serve it portfolio of clients going forward as well as those of OBI. The acquisition, OBI’s second this year, was finalized on March 1. In May 2017, OBI purchased Des Moines-based Alt Studios, a digital, IT, web hosting and social media advertising agency. OBI was founded in 2001 by Mary Ann O’Brien.
