Grinnell hires VP for development and alumni relations
Grinnell College has hired Jaci Thiede as vice president for development and alumni relations. She was most recently vice president for university advancement at Butler University in Indianapolis. While at Butler, Thiede led efforts that resulted in recording the first- and third-highest fundraising totals in the university’s history. She will begin work at Grinnell on July 31. She fills the position vacated by Shane Jacobson, who left Grinnell in April 2017 after being hired as president and CEO of the University of Vermont Foundation. Before her leadership role at Butler, Thiede was associate dean for alumni relations and development at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law in Chicago. As a member of Grinnell’s senior leadership team, Thiede (whose first name is pronounced “Jackie”) will provide strategic vision and direction for all fundraising, alumni relations and stewardship activities, the college said in a release.
