Text messages sent to voters with inaccurate primary election information were sent in error by a campaign, not by a party with malicious intent, state election officials said today. Text messages received by Democratic voters in at least four counties directed voters to the wrong precinct polling location and gave the wrong information about primary Election Day, which is today, Radio Iowa reports. Secretary of State Paul Pate’s office announced the texts were sent by a campaign, but did not identify which campaign was involved. Voters should contact their county auditor or visit https://sos.iowa.gov/ with any questions about their voting site.
