NOTEBOOK: Sukup’s perks for workers include weeklong Hawaii trips

Sukup workers get a free turkey for Thanksgiving, free single health coveraqe, snacks, and soon, an on-site health care clinic.
Then there are the Hawaii trips for those who have worked there 10 years or more. They get to take their spouse if they have one.
The Hawaii incentive trip happens every six years, and 162 people took the trip Jan. 5-12. The company springs for airfare, transportation, lodging, and at least one meal per day. Attendees stayed at both Waikiki Beach and Maui, toured the Pearl Harbor memorial, and took side trips to see natural sites. They also spoke with Sukup dealers and attended sales meetings.
“The Hawaii trip is a tradition we love as a family and a company,” Sukup Manufacturing CEO Charles Sukup said in a company report. “This year was our 12th Hawaii trip, and each one is a fun and relaxing time to celebrate our long-term employees’ hard work and dedication. It’s a great way to mix business and pleasure.”
Some of the best-performing Sukup dealers also get to go.
