Iowa Workforce Development’s Labor Market Information Division received an Applied Research Award from the Council for Community and Economic Research for its report on college student retention, “Retaining Iowa’s Talent: Post-Graduation Location & Employment Plans,” which was published in fall 2017. The award was given for policy analysis supporting state initiatives during the the C2ER 58th Annual Conference and LMI Institute Annual Forum held in Atlanta. Labor market economists Katie Lippold and Dana Barrer were lead researchers on the report, which surveyed more than 8,600 Iowa college students on their plans following college.
