ACAP Health, a Dallas-based clinical wellness subsidiary of Holmes Murphy & Associates, has partnered with Regenexx, a Des Moines company that specializes in nonsurgical alternatives for treating orthopedic injuries, arthritis and other degenerative conditions. With the partnership, ACAP Health will be able to expand its clinical reach to this high-cost area for its employer clients, the firm said in a news release. Musculoskeletal injuries are typically one of the highest-cost areas for employer health plans in terms of total spending, said Wally Gomaa, CEO of ACAP Health. Employers who underwrite Regenexx through their health plans have reduced their orthopedic health care costs by 84 percent. Regenexx is led by Jason Hellickson, a former Holmes Murphy executive who discovered the company when he needed orthopedic treatment and decided to fund Regenexx through his venture capital firm to expand nationwide.
