Stine Seed Co. of Adel faces a class action lawsuit after the Black Farms and Agriculturalists Association accused Stine of selling fake or defective soybean seeds to African Americans, reports the Des Moines Register. The Memphis-based group claimed black farmers purchased more than $100,000 worth of certified soybean seeds from Stine in 2017, but that the certified seeds were switched with inferior ones at a warehouse, producing low yields.
