UnityPoint Health-Des Moines has appointed Mike Dewerff as its new senior vice president and chief financial officer. He was most recently president and CEO of UnityPoint Health-Fort Dodge. He succeeds Joe Corfits, who retired in April from the CFO position in Des Moines. Dewerff will begin his new duties Sept. 17. A native of Fargo, N.D., Dewerff joined UnityPoint Health-Fort Dodge in 2010 as chief financial officer, and had been president and CEO since 2015. Before joining UnityPoint Health, Dewerff spent 10 years as the CFO at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, and was a finance coordinator at Banner Health in Fargo, N.D. He has also been active in the Healthcare Financial Management Association and served on the HFMA national board of directors in 2015-2017.
