Casey’s General Stores Inc. has announced it will donate 10 million meals to school-aged children and their families who are suffering from food insecurity. In a news release, the convenience store company said it has joined with Coca-Cola in the campaign, including offers on Coca-Cola at Casey’s stores. The companies are asking customers to donate change by rounding up purchases, and to buy a Coke four-pack for $5, with $1 going directly to Feeding America, up to $50,000. Feeding America is a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks. Casey’s began a partnership with Feeding America in May, contributing cash donations to support coronavirus relief efforts at food banks, and nearly 40,000 pounds of food products. Casey’s employees will also be volunteering at a food bank this month. “Casey’s is at the heart of every community it serves, and hunger is present in these communities whether you see it every day or not,” Megan Elfers, vice president of marketing for Casey’s, said in a news release. Lauren Biedron, vice president of corporation partnerships at Feeding America, said, “This is a critical moment in the fight against hunger. Our partnership with Casey’s helps us meet the needs of so many communities across the heart of America.”
