Imagine getting married or holding your next fundraiser in an English country mansion. Oh wait, you don’t have to imagine it.

The Rollins Mansion, a replica of an English Tudor estate home, opened in March as an events center. The home was built in the 1920s by women’s hosiery magnate Ralph Rollins, a friend of cosmetics millionaire Carl Weeks, who built the Salisbury House.

The mansion, with 10,000 square feet of rentable space in an 18,000-square-foot home, plus gardens and a 4,000-square-foot terrace, is a labor of love and profit for Joel Woehler, a 38-year-old commercial real estate agent by day. “Interiors” is a new feature in which Business Record photographer Duane Tinkey will preview new or renovated buildings around Greater Des Moines that are of interest.
