Mainframe Studios, which provides affordable workspaces for artists and low-cost office space for nonprofit arts groups, is rebooting its open studio event First Friday on Aug. 7 with a special benefit art exhibition titled “Art of Our Time.” The exhibit, organized by Mainframe Studios, Olson Larsen Galleries and Yellow Door Gallery, includes submissions from artists across the country. Sales from the exhibit will benefit Oakridge Neighborhood Services, which for 50 years has served vulnerable residents by providing safe, affordable housing, and Community Support Advocates, which provides support to artists with disabilities and mental illnesses through its Momentum Art Program. The exhibit can be viewed at artofourtime.org. Those interested in attending First Friday in person must make advance reservations by clicking here. A limited number of people will be allowed at the event, and attendees, who will be encouraged to social distance, must wear masks.
