Facebook in talks to acquire drone company for $60 million

Reuters: Facebook Inc. is in talks to buy drone maker Titan Aerospace for $60 million, according to media reports. The high-flying drones would give Facebook, the world's No. 1 Internet social network, the ability to beam wireless Internet access to consumers in undeveloped parts of the world, according to the technology blog TechCrunch. TechCrunch first reported the deal late on Monday, citing an anonymous source.


Apple CFO to leave, joins Goldman board

CNNMoney: Apple Inc.'s chief financial officer, Peter Oppenheimer, is on his way out -- and has been named to Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s board of directors. Apple and Goldman Sachs announced the news on Tuesday. Apple said Oppenheimer is retiring in September and will be replaced by its current vice president of finance, Luca Maestri.


Insurers' Obamacare losses may reach $5.5 billion in 2015

Bloomberg: Health insurers such as WellPoint Inc. and Humana Inc. stand to gain $5.5 billion next year to cover losses from Obamacare in a program the law's opponents label a bailout. The money, outlined in President Barack Obama's proposed budget for the fiscal year that begins in October, is designated to help insurers who find the cost of the law higher than expected, based on the percentage of older, sicker people who sign up compared with younger enrollees.
