Bravo Greater Des Moines has hired Sally Dix to be the organization's next executive director.

Dix, a class of 2007 Business Record Forty under 40 honoree, replaces MD Isley, who left the organization last summer to head the Des Moines Area Community College business department. She will officially start her new role on Jan. 2.
"Bravo plays an important role in enhancing quality of life in Greater Des Moines," Dix said in a news release. "I'm thrilled to be joining the organization at this exciting time as we look to new ways to strengthen and promote our vibrant cultural community."
Dix was selected from an extensive pool of local and national candidates evaluated by a search committee led by Bravo Board President Sharon Krause with the assistance of Arts Consulting Group, a national arts and culture consulting firm.
Prior to joining Bravo, Dix was the Blue Zones engagement manager for Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She also was the executive director of the Iowa affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and she spent 10 years as vice president of communications for the Science Center of Iowa.
