Drake University will hold a private groundbreaking ceremony Saturday for the $15 million facility that will house the School of Education, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, and the Robert D. and Billie Ray Center. The new building is part of a $55 million STEM@DRAKE initiative that will add two new buildings to Drake's campus, substantially renovate existing laboratory and classroom space, and create six new academic programs. Construction on the second, $20 million building, which will connect Fitch Hall and Olin Hall to complete a six-building hub has already begun. The buildings are to be completed by July 2017.
