Greater Des Moines home sales spiked 57 from February to March, according to the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors. Sale were up 15 percent from March 2016. Along with sales, median prices also increased, rising 5 percent month-to-month and 9 percent year-over-year. The Realtors said 1,081 houses sold in March at a median price of $177,000, compared with $169,000 in February and $162,000 a year ago. Houses that sold last month had been on the market an average 71 days, down from 83 in February. Pending sales increased to 1,624 in March from 1,332 in February.
