Wisconsin Energy buying Integrys for $5.8 billion

ABC News: Wisconsin Energy Corp. is buying Integrys Energy Group Inc. for about $5.8 billion in cash and stock to form a more diverse Midwest electric and natural gas delivery company. The combined company will be called WEC Energy Group Inc. and serve more than 4.3 million total gas and electric customers across Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota.


Oracle to buy Micros Systems in $5.3 billion deal

Reuters: Oracle Corp., a computer software and IT company, said it would buy Micros Systems in a $5.3 billion deal to expand its offerings for the hospitality and retail industries. Micros Systems makes point-of-sale hardware and software for restaurants and hotels. The deal is Oracle's largest since it bought Sun Microsystems for $5.6 billion in 2009.


U.S. manufacturing expands in June at fastest rate in four years

Reuters: The U.S. manufacturing sector expanded more strongly than expected in June, with the rate of growth and key subindexes advancing to their highest levels in more than four years, an industry report showed on Monday. Financial data firm Markit said its preliminary or "flash" U.S. Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index rose to 57.5 in June, above economists' expectations for 56.5 and the highest reading since May 2010. In May, the final read for the index was 56.4.
