Amazon released its 2021 Small Business Empowerment Report Tuesday, which showed Iowa businesses selling on Amazon ranked fourth behind Nebraska, South Dakota and Delaware in fastest sales growth between September 2020 and August 2021. In 2020, the e-commerce giant gained more than 200,000 new small and medium-sized businesses selling on Amazon from around the world, a 45% increase from 2019. Since the allowing of third parties to sell on the platform, the report estimates those businesses have created about 1.8 million U.S.-based jobs. Delaware, Florida and Utah were the top three states with the most Amazon sellers per capita.
