The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, which recently celebrated the completion of its initial two cohorts of Iowa entrepreneurs, is now seeking applicants for its third Iowa class that will begin in January. During the 2019 Iowa State Fair, Gov. Kim Reynolds and Goldman Sachs Chairman and CEO David Solomon helped celebrate the completion of the program by the initial two classes that totaled 73 Iowa entrepreneurs. The program, provided through the state’s 15 community colleges and led by Des Moines Area Community College, helps entrepreneurs create jobs and economic opportunity by providing greater access to education and business support services. It’s provided at no cost with support from the Goldman Sachs Foundation, with a curriculum designed in partnership with Babson College. Among the more than 8,600 U.S. small business owners nationwide who have graduated, two-thirds have seen revenue growth six months after completing the program, and nearly half added new jobs.
