Seventy-two projects in Iowa received Registered Apprenticeship Expansion grants totaling $6,626,852, Gov. Kim Reynolds announced on Monday. Applications are now open for the new Coronavirus Relief Earn and Learn Grant to nonprofits, adult training providers, businesses with less than 50 employees, post-secondary institutions and unions that support short-term training programs and support services. The projects must serve Iowans whose jobs have been affected by the pandemic; applications are due Oct. 26, and awarded funds must be expended by Dec. 31. Applicants can apply for up to $250,000 to use toward tuition, books, work-related supplies and other supports.
