Nathan Simpson, pictured, has been promoted to chief operations officer of Primary Health Care Inc., a Des Moines-based nonprofit community health center with locations throughout Central Iowa. In his new role, Simpson will oversee the operations of PHC’s medical and dental clinics, homeless support services and HIV programs. “Nathan is a pragmatic, forward-thinking, and strategic leader who exemplifies PHC values,” said Kelly Huntsman, CEO of PHC. “He will be an outstanding addition to our executive leadership team.” Simpson began with PHC as a clinic director at the Bery Engebretsen Clinic in 2012 and transitioned to lead PHC at Mercy’s Residency Clinic in 2014. He spent the last year as director of operations, overseeing programs, facilities, safety, clinic expansion and emerging projects. Simpson brings a wide breadth of operational experience to his new role, including a seven-year stint in the U.S. Army.
