About me:

In November 2015, I rejoined the Business Record team on a freelance basis as contributing editor of Lift IOWA, the Business Record's e-newsletter focusing on connecting, educating and empowering Iowa's female leaders and business owners. I've had the privilege of helping oversee the production of Lift since it launched in March 2014.

I called Greater Des Moines home for more than four years. For two of those years, I worked for the Business Record, covering culture, retail, and sales and marketing. Prior to that, I was a local editor at Patch.com, where I launched and managed the company’s Ankeny site.

I left the Business Record in September 2015 when my husband and I returned home to the Mason City area, a move that allowed us to be closer to our families. For four years, I was communications specialist for One Vision, a nonprofit based in Clear Lake, before I rejoined Patch in June 2019. Today, I am breaking news editor on the company's national desk.

I am a graduate of University of Iowa and North Iowa Area Community College. Before moving to Des Moines, I started my career working at weekly community newspapers in Wisconsin and north Iowa.
