The Iowa Utilities Board today issued a decision regarding Alliant Energy’s request for approval of proposed customer notices in advance of the company filing a request with the IUB to increase both its customer electric and natural gas rates. Alliant’s proposed notices, filed with the IUB on Dec. 24, were intended to provide information to customers of both utility services about the proposed rate increases. Today’s order rejects Alliant’s proposed customer notices and requires the company to file new draft customer notices in two separate dockets opened by the IUB. In a release, the IUB said new statutory provisions do not authorize it to allow multiple future test years in one rate case proceeding.
