Des Moines Register: Led by increased profits from higher fuel prices, Ankeny-based Casey’s General Stores reported a strong quarter. The gas station chain said it earned $152.9 million in net income for the period that ended July 31, up 28% from a year ago. Fuel sales led the way, with the company earning 45 cents on every gallon sold — up 10 cents per gallon over last year, according to its Wednesday report.
