The city of Des Moines is conducting an infrastructure study that will support future growth in the southwest part of the city. A project stakeholder group has taken part in forming recommendations for possible street alignments, cross sections and intersection improvements. An open house and workshop that will detail the preliminary recommendations will be held from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fred Maytag II Scout Center, 6123 Scout Trail in Des Moines. The infrastructure study coincides with development of a master plan south of Gray’s Lake between Fleur Drive and Indianola Avenue along Thomas Beck Drive.
