An official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19, for a new warehouse project being built on the south edge of Bondurant, near where Amazon is building a new fulfillment center. The $55 million project sits on 72 acres of land on Southwest Shiloh Rose Parkway, just west of Northeast Hubbell Avenue. According to city documents, completion of the 278,000-square-foot warehouse is scheduled for Aug. 1, 2021. Officials with Ryan Cos., the developer on the project, described the warehouse as an “outbound cross-dock facility,” where trucks would be unloaded on the north dock, with packages being sorted by ZIP code and then loaded onto third-party trucks, such as Fed-Ex or UPS, that are parked on the south dock. Neither the developer nor officials with the city would comment on what company will operate the warehouse once it’s complete. It’s not clear if the identity of the company will be revealed at the groundbreaking, which is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
