Kemin Industries, a Des Moines-based global ingredient manufacturer, announced it has launched a new line of hemp cannabidiol (CBD) distillates. The new Luxiva CBD line includes “two new products that are USDA-certified organic and fully traceable to hemp farms in the Midwest United States,” said Tyler Holstein, global product manager of Kemin Human Nutrition and Health. “They provide the added benefit of certification by a credible source — something that CBD consumers look for when making their purchase decisions." Kemin announced in January it has taken an equity stake in Driftless Extracts, a USDA-certified organic hemp producer, processor and ingredient supplier and entered into a supply agreement for the division to expand its offerings of hemp-based ingredients in the U.S. and globally. The U.S. retail hemp-cannabidiol market is booming, currently valued at $803 million, with growth expected to reach 1.2 billion by 2023, according to Nutrition Business Journal.
