The master plan for the Waukee's Kettlestone development area has received an Honor Award for Planning from the Iowa chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The plan was designed by Confluence Architects of Des Moines. The Honor Award is the highest level of award given by the society, and it recognizes exceptional creativity and imagination in landscape architecture, according to a release from the city of Waukee. The planning effort included updating the previous market study, redefining the open space and greenway plan, and developing concepts for branding. Confluence developed design guidelines and a zoning overlay the the city will use to implement the plan.
