Greater Des Moines house sales increased 27% to 1,152 in April from 907 in March, while median prices dropped to $203,000 from $209,900 over the same period, the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors said. In April 2018, the median sales price was $198,500 and sales totaled 1,212. Contracts were written for 1,601 homes last month, compared with 1,479 in March and 1,755 a year ago. Houses that sold in April had been on the market an average of 68 days, down from 77 in March. Listings increased to 3,488 in April from 3,344 in March and 3,127 in April 2018.
