The Iowa wine and grape industry had a $420 million economic impact in 2012, up from $234 million in 2008, according to a report commissioned by Iowa State University's Midwest Grape & Wine Industry Institute. California-based Frank, Rimmerman + Co. LLP said the industry paid $83 million in wages, produced nearly 300,000 gallons of wine with a retail value of $15 million, captured $41 million in spending from wine tourists and created the equivalent of 2,678 full-time jobs.
