Davenport-based Lee Enterprises Inc. reported income of $1.8 million, or 3 cents per share, for its fiscal third quarter, which ended June 30, compared with a loss of $1.5 million, or 3 cents per share, in the same quarter last year. The media company said today that operating revenue for the third quarter dropped 2.8 percent from the previous year to $167 million. Lee reported an increase in digital revenue of 4.9 percent to $19.9 million, an 89 percent increase in mobile advertising revenue to $1.5 million and an increase of 1.7 percent in preprinted advertising revenue. The company, whose newspapers include the Quad-City Times in Davenport, completed a refinancing in January 2012 and since that time has reduced its debt $122 million to $873.5 million, according to a news release.
