, a Cedar Rapids-based technology startup whose product helps fitness professionals monitor clients' progress through fitness trackers, won a $5,000 first prize in an inaugural Mentor+Match event held July 12. The event, hosted in Cedar Rapids by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, brought together 10 startup companies to compete for cash prizes and six-month mentorships with Wellmark executives. A second-place award of $3,000 went to Iowa Adaptive Technologies of Iowa City, which develops devices to enable critically ill and disabled patients who are unable to talk with a means to communicate using subtle movements. Third place and $2,000 were awarded to Born Ready, an Iowa City startup that has developed a childproofing mobile application that provides in-depth safety information to new and expecting parents.
