Des Moines Register: Iowa is one of the worst states in which to own or buy an electric vehicle, according to a new report by the Consumer Choice Center. The Washington, D.C.-based consumer advocacy group's Electric Vehicle Accessibility Index ranked states by whether you can directly purchase an electric vehicle from a dealership in the state, and whether there are specific licensing fees on the vehicles. These policies, passed by state governments, make it more difficult for consumers to purchase and own electric vehicles compared with traditionally fueled vehicles, the CCC argued in its report.
