Des Moines-based LBS, a manufacturer and distributor of materials for books and packaging production, announced plans to acquire Illinois-based Gane Brothers & Lane Inc. The transaction is expected to close Dec. 10. Once finalized, Ganes will merge with LBS’ operation in Des Moines; LBS plans to hire additional staff to serve customers in book manufacturing, publishing and luxury packaging industries.
