ABI announces speakers for Iowa Manufacturing Conference

The Iowa Association of Business and Industry has announced speakers who will present at its Iowa Manufacturing Conference on Oct. 4 in Ankeny. Mary Kelly, a retired Navy commander who spent more than 20 years on active duty in intelligence and logistics, will give the keynote speech. Kelly learned lessons in leadership in the 1991 and 2003 Gulf Wars and during 9/11. She was also a military professor at the United States Naval Academy and a civilian professor at the United States Air Force Academy. Attendees will also hear from Kanlaya Barr, corporate economist for Deere & Co. Barr is a graduate of Iowa State University and has experience working in the finance industry in the U.S. and Thailand. She will provide a global economic outlook, including supply chain pressures, rate increases and a harvest outlook. Legends in Manufacturing will also be celebrated during the conference as part of ABI’s Elevate Iowa initiative, which helps raise awareness about manufacturing careers in Iowa. The day will conclude with optional tours of John Deere in Ankeny, EFCO Corp. in Des Moines and DMACC in Ankeny. Registration is available here.
