Adam Meyer named associate dean at Juilliard
West Des Moines native Adam Meyer has been appointed associate dean for administration at The Juilliard School in New York City. A violist, teacher and administrator, Meyer received a master’s degree from Juilliard in 2004.
The Juilliard Journal reported that Meyer has been the dean of students at the Perlman Music Program, teaches in the Stony Brook University Pre-College Program and is a chamber music coach at the New York Youth Symphony. As the founding violist of the Bryant Park Quartet, Meyer has both performed and worked as an administrator during the past four years.
Meyer is the son of Gene and Kathy Meyer of West Des Moines. Gene Meyer is the vice president of strategic initiatives at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, and Kathy Meyer is a retired teacher.
