AIB to eliminate captioning, court reporting programs
AIB College of Business said it will phase out its court reporting and captioning programs due to decreasing interest in those areas. The college said it plans to refocus its curriculum to emphasize majors in core business fields. “As a part of strategic planning, the AIB Board of Trustees last week approved a new vision statement that promotes baccalaureate education with exceptional business curricula,” President Nancy Williams said in a release. AIB also plans to further expand its athletics department because the influx of student athletes for its sports programs has translated into increased interest in the sports and event management major, Williams said. Nearly 900 full- and part-time students are enrolled in AIB’s day, evening and online classes.
