Amerigroup Iowa, a subsidiary of Elevance Health serving Medicaid enrollees, will begin rebranding as Wellpoint in January 2024 to reflect the company’s aim to support whole health. The rebranding will not result in any changes to current Amerigroup members’ health benefits or coverage. Members will continue to have access to their established primary care providers, specialists, hospitals and other health care facilities. The transition will also not lead to any changes to Amerigroup’s agreements or levels of support with its health care providers, according to a press release. Providers who serve current Amerigroup members will have continued access to tools and resources for day-to-day administrative tasks. Wellpoint’s suite of health benefits is designed for consumers at any stage of life, offering access to supportive health solutions, including services from in-home wellness visits and transportation to the deployment of mobile medical clinics in low-income and rural communities.
