Iowa City Press-Citizen: The Coralville City Council has passed an ordinance regulating how online home-sharing and rental services like Airbnb can operate in the city. Property owners offering space for short-term rent must obtain an annual $50 rental permit per unit and their units must pass biannual inspections. The owner must also live on-site while the renter is there, according to the ordinance. The ordinance defines short-term rentals as those lasting less than 90 days.
