Amos Hiatt auditorium to be dedicated today
Amos Hiatt Middle School will open its newly renovated, 4,900-square-foot auditorium today. The school will have a ceremony at 5 p.m. The renovation was the project of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Class of 2011, called “Project Encore.” The class raised more than $140,000 for the reconstruction, which included the refurbishment of 600 wood chairs, new acoustical fabric and replacement of the 1,130-square-foot stage floor.
