The city of Ankeny received the Distinguished Budget Award for its presentation of the current fiscal year budget from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, according to a release. For the award, Ankeny officials had to satisfy national guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications piece. This is the 19th consecutive year Ankeny has received this award from GFOA.
