The Ankeny school district has expanded its partnership with Junior Achievement of Central Iowa to provide more career exploration, financial literacy and entrepreneurship opportunities for students. Since 2018, fifth graders have participated in the JA BizTown program. The initiative’s success prompted the district to seek additional JA opportunities for all its students. This year, seventh graders will participate in JA Finance Park, while some high school students will take part in the JA Stock Market Challenge competition. The partnership is in line with Ankeny’s new strategic plan, which aims to prepare all students for postsecondary success. Junior Achievement of Central Iowa’s mission is to empower students with a skillset and mindset to create a bright future. It serves over 21,000 students across its 52-county territory through various educational experiences.
