98 wordsArts and Culture, Government Policy and LawThe Iowa Department of Revenue reminds Iowans that the Annual Sales Tax Holiday will be in effect the first Friday and Saturday of August, Aug. 6 and 7. The annual break from sales tax is the perfect time to save on clothes, shoes or advance shopping for the holiday season. In general, select clothing and footwear are tax-exempt – meaning no state sales tax will be collected, but there are restrictions. Online purchases are also included if they are ordered and paid for during the exemption period. Visit the revenue department’s Sales Tax Holiday page for full details.
