Applications open for grant program supporting LGBTQ+-owned restaurants

149 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and CultureIn an ongoing partnership between the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), a certifying body for LGBTQ+-owned businesses nationwide and food-delivery app Grubhub’s Grubhub Community Fund is offering grants through the NGLCC Community Impact Program.
These grants, which range from $5,000 to $25,000, offer funding to LGBTQ+-owned or ally-owned businesses for employee wages and incentives, maintaining or upgrading existing infrastructure, enabling marketing and PR efforts, and more. The NGLCC is rolling out the grant program regionally, with applications for Midwest establishments open now through June 4. The NGLCC has set a goal to allocate 30% of the funds to businesses owned by people of color and transgender and gender expansive individuals. The Iowa LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, an affiliate chamber of NGLCC, is holding two grant writing workshops to help restaurant owners apply for the grant program.
