I’m the newest addition to the Business Record staff, after spending eight years at the Ames Tribune, the past six as its editor.

Before joining the Tribune, I was a reporter for 11 years with the Associated Press in Des Moines.

My focus at the Business Record will be economic development, while also paying attention to issues involving agriculture, the environment and transportation.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me at home with my family in Cambridge, being mildly obsessive with our dogs (ask me about them sometime), going “junkin’ ” with my wife, enjoying being a first-time grandparent, and dad to several (six, to be exact) children, two of whom still live at home. Most are DMACC, Iowa State and Ballard alumni.

I also like to dabble in photography, and I have been known to grab my camera and run off to wherever I think a photo is happening.

I’m looking forward to working with you and getting to know you better.
