Ballet Des Moines and host Connie Wimer will entertain Des Moines arts enthusiasts at their BLACK AND WHITE Masquerade in the penthouse of the Whiteline Lofts, 120 S.W. Fifth St., this Saturday at 9 p.m. Inspired by Truman Capote’s Masked Black and White Ball, which was hosted at the Plaza Hotel in New York City in 1966, two different parties will coexist at the ball, according to a news release. The penthouse area will feature a quiet raw bar and jazz music, while the space with southern and eastern views will contrast it with lounge furniture and techno dance music. The Masquerade also will feature a midnight champagne breakfast. Tickets to the event are $125 per person, or $75 for Young Professionals Connection members. All proceeds will benefit Ballet Des Moines. For more information and to RSVP, visit the Ballet Des Moines website.
