The interactive teller machine is getting some love at banks and credit unions across the state. The Corridor Business Journal, citing KCRG-TV9, reported that MidWestOne Bank has installed one at a branch in Iowa City. PSB Bank in Clarinda claims to be the first in the state to install the technology, in which customers chat via video with a human teller working from a remote location. The Veridian Credit Union branch at Ingersoll Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway also features the machines. The Corridor Business Journal said the technology is spreading across the country as way for financial institutions to expand their branch networks without adding employees. Read more about the machines.
