The bank will partner with affordable housing nonprofits in each of its markets to create and run the programs, including Home Inc. in Central Iowa; Horizons, a Family Service Alliance in Cedar Rapids; and Trellis, in Phoenix, Ariz. Bankers Trust and Home Inc. first partnered in 2022 to address the need for homebuyer education in Central Iowa, particularly for underserved communities. Through the expanded partnership, classes will be offered twice a year through 2027. The classes provide education on the financial considerations that go into saving for a home, building credit, the mortgage process, and owning and maintaining a home. The first Central Iowa class of 2023 is scheduled for May 20. More details and registration can be found here.
